County Urges Residents to Sign-Up for CodeRed

The Calvert County Division of Emergency Management uses CodeRED, an emergency telephone notification system, to contact County residents in the event of an emergency situation. This system allows hundreds of telephones per minute, to be called with a recorded message that provides vital information. When an emergency arises, those impacted by the event are called using identified lists such as residents around Calvert Cliffs or Cove Point, geographical areas such as residents on a particular road or a radius for events such as missing persons. CodeRED has been used to inform and update residents about power outages, missing persons, weather information, water and sewer service disruption, and gas line breaks. CCCPTA Budget Amendment & Nominating Committee

Greetings;

The CCCPTA membership approved an amended budget at the meeting on 25 March 08.  Due to the cancellation of the Camp Fair and no donation income CCCPTA amended the budget to reflect on overall reduction in income of $900.  Significantly the membership approved a reduction to Conference Training (this is the money CCCPTA uses to reimburse local units up to $85 for registration fees for MDPTA conferences and training) from $1700 to $1275, a reduction of $425.  This means CCCPTA will provide reimbursement for a maximum of 15 local units vice 20 and the reimbursement is on a “first come, first serve” basis.
